Once done correctly and professionally by one of our team at Timba there’s no reason why your new sanded and coated floor shouldn’t last you 20 + years. The key to longevity with flooring is making sure it is maintained well with correct and constant cleaning and ensuring anything sharp like chair legs are covered with felt stoppers.
This can vary from species to species and depend on what type of flooring you have down (solid, engineered or otherwise). For a standard 4mm veneer engineered floor you should be able to get 2-3 sands out of its wear layer. Solid timber species may get up to 4-5 sands however this is dependent on a few variables which can be discussed on site.
A standard 70m-100m2 floor in a residential home will take approximately 5 days. There is 2 days of sanding and 3 coats applied which take a day each. Residents of the home will be required to be out of the home throughout this process.
Although our team’s machines are almost dust free there is always an element of dust once the job is complete. Our team will do their best to cover up your belongings and tape under doorways it is still advisable to move as much of your household items away from the rooms that are being attended to. Micro dust (very fine dust) can get into household appliances and therefore should be stored away prior to the works taking place.
